What are Objects in Flash Actionscript?

The term "objects" in Actionscript in Flash refers to anything on your stage, including but not limited to symbols, images, sound, buttons or the stage itself. Each object must have a instance name (located in the properties tool bar) in order for it to be "called" in your script. (Remember that objects can not share instance names. Unlike symbols, each object is independent from any of its duplicates.)
