UJoin Ipad Application Comp

Our second assignment in Interactive Scripting was an Ipad Application with the goal of creating an app for college students. I had never made a Ipad app before and had never even played with one so I had very little experience with how they looked or interacted with the user. My first attempts were created with my knowledge on web design so they were centered around separate pages with a lot of links and pictures.
I wasn't liking it very much so I decided to first get experience with an ipad before I tried again. (My design process always starts with one design and then I scrap that and start all over again...)
I played with the Ipad for probably only an hour but it had a huge impact on me. I learned quickly how the space easily shares the page and the navigation menu. I like on the Ipad how you can slide the menu system in and out so I applied that to my own. I also improved things by limiting my color palette, taking out pictures and following a grid system, all design elements that seemed to be popular among successful Ipad apps.
