International University in Beijing: Thursday, May 24th

The international university in Beijing is a university that specializes in degrees dealing with international affairs. My classmates and I joined the Women’s Studies class for that night to talk to the students and give our own lectures on feminism in America. All I can say is, we were not prepared. While our speeches would have been fine in America, they did not stand up to the Chinese students we spoke to. After we described how women are treated in business in America they asked us some very tough questions. This was an eye-opening experience because of how different American and Chinese students are. It is hard to find a classroom in America that is full of students who take every moment seriously. The questions they asked were not only deep but were directly related to what we had said earlier. The questions were serious intelligent, and honest and we sadly could not deliver with the same sort of answers. I can promise you that I learned more from them, then they learned from us.
