Alex Varanese is an illustrator that has a lot of elements that he includes in his illustrations that I like to apply to my own art, including: typography, texture, and imagination. Alex uses typography more as a visual element than a descriptive one and combines the visual and the text into one brilliant illustration.

Stefan Chinof is one of my favorite Illustrators. A lot of his work is 3D typography with added illustrative elements that reflect the word's meaning. I really like 3D typography and Stefan does it very impressively. His illustration defies the ordinary by bringing together two opposing ideas. I admire any Illustration that makes you look twice.
Kuntzel + Deygas created the opening title sequence for "Catch Me If You Can". It's a short motion graphic that uses typography and uses a flat color style. I can really appreciate this animation because through its many tranistions, if you stopped it at any time, the screen shot still looks like a beautiful illustration.
Mad Men is a Show that I really enjoy because of its attitude and style but mostly I really like the opening title sequence animation. The music and flow are smooth and sophisticated and the illustrations are minimal, all things I get influence from.
Nature, all types of nature gives me inspiration because it's beautiful without even trying. I find inspiration from the colors, textures and forms that it creates effortlessly.
Vintage Posters, my favorite being from the 1970s, are usually minimal with a grudge texture. The typography is also very simple which I try to translate into my own work.
