I was liking where my Support Model was going but it had a couple of issues I had to fix. The first and major problem was that it contained 300,000 triangles. (All models are made up with triangles and the more triangles, the bigger the model resolution). I needed my model to be 5,000 tris or less so I had a lot of work to do. I recreated the model with forms that were less high in tri count. I then used a normal map (fakes lighting and smoothing through a material without adding to the tri count) to bring back the smoothing that I wanted from the higher rez model.
It also did not represent my targeted emotion, support, as much as I wanted, so I simplified it by taking out many of the "fingers".
I am proud of the end result.
